This course traces the activities of selected significant European theatre practitioners in the twentieth century with particular reference to their influence, theoretical and practical, on acting, directing and scenography.這是一門引領學生認識廿世紀以來西方劇場導演風格與工作內容的課程；除了簡介如Stanislavsky, Brecht, Artaud, Meyerhold, Robert Wilson, Robert Lepage或其他近代導演外，學生將針對華人地區的導演作品、手法和風格，思考與觀察導演創作和技藝的多重面相與內涵。整學期將透過訪談和習作，讓學生學習和理解。
